Vermondo Brugnatelli (Milan, October 19, 1953) is a Italian linguist, writer and lecturer, considered as one of the greatest contemporary scholars of Berber language.
Brugnatelli is a descendant of Louis Valentino, he graduated in classics in 1979 with a thesis on the history of the Hamito-Semitic linguistic, participates and is a member of numerous associations and organizations and scientific institutions of language and linguistics.
Since 1992 he directs the Research Center Camito-Semitic in Milan and co-director (along with Francis Aspesi) of the series "Studies Camito-Semitic" and "Learning Materials", published by the Centre itself.
President of the Associazione Culturale Berbera and to encourage the publication "Awal n Tmazight " (The Berber voice ).
Among the number of teaching posts, has held the chairs of structural linguistics at the Civic School of Oriental Languages of the Municipality of Milan, Institute of Linguistics at the University of Bergamo, Berbera Dialectology at the School of Studies Islamic Istituto Universitario Orientale of Naples, and General Linguistics and institutions of the Arab culture of Milan Bicocca. He has taught courses in Linguistics Camito-Semitic "at the University of Turin (Professor of Semitic Philology) and" Berber language and culture at the University of Milan (Professor of Hebrew and Comparative Semitic Languages).
